I'm 49 was 48 at the time my score was under 10 o was told it had to be under 25 for my age 

howver I would not have accepted chemo unless he score was really high the risks outweighed the benefits for me we are all different this is only my opinion please don't let ot influence your decision it has to.be yours to be honest I don't think I would have accepted Chemo anyway .

your oncologist will go through everything make sure you find out the percentage of benefit for you as sometimes it's low .

Thank you. Under 10 is really low. That's great news. I was told that during the meeting it was difficult to decide due to my age and it being over 15. They said im in a grey area. 
 

im generally fit and well in myself so I don't feel too bad. I found my cancer due to being really poorly and all those issues have now gone since it's been removed.

Hi, please don't apologise! Mine was 22, and like yourself I'm under 40. At the appointment, along with the score, the oncologist had some percentages and graphs which showed the benefits and they were really helpful, it helped to put it in perspective (my likelihood of recurrence was at around 10% and chemo was dropping it to 5% so I decided it was worth it). 

I found this wait the worst, I think as the initial panic has gone but its obviously still a very stressful and worrying time! I hope you get your appointment soon xx

5% is a lot I'd have made the same decision. I think some people have said that they just want to throw everything at it and if it reduces the risks even slightly you've done all you can. Obviously dont want to go through it or put my family through it but my husbands of the idea that if I don't try everything and I regret it later I'll beat myself up. I have a horrible feeling they will let me make the decision x

yes you want to feel that it's the right thing my oncologist was confident and said straight away on the call to give results that the risks would outweigh the benefits and chemo would not benefit even 1% in my case so was happy to leave it .

but for me Chemo is amazing in many ways but I think it's no miracle and I no lots of people who have chemo the cancer still comes back so that so if I had had it I feel it a not bulletproof to put myself through it .

I really believe once you have a diagnosis like we have we tend to fall on anything to make it go away it's natural but for me it would have to be concrete evidence to put my body through chemo .

That's one of the issues. They discussed me for ages and some said I'd need it some disagreed. I'm within the threshold for needing it but not by much. I only spoke to the McMillan nurse. I haven't got an apt for the oncologist yet but they've said I'll have more tests to determine the for and against

It's such a nightmare when it's so close lovely I feel for you , but my consultant told me Chemo so I expected it oncologist rolled her eyes oncologist are much bette in making these decisions my oncologist was more or less against chemo before oncotyoe came back .

So I’ve seen my oncologist this morning and no chemo. It was only a 1.6% chance of helping. Yay. But she thinks removing my ovaries and post menopausal medication instead of tamoxifen would be best. he said I could try an injection first to see how I got on and then remove ovaries but doing so would give even better odds than chemo. I hadn’t even looked at any of those options so I’m stumped again x
