Breast cancer

Hello

I got my results from my biospy and I have invasive ductal carcinoma , lump was 7mm ,ER postive .HER2 negative . Clinically node negative , I had my surgery last week and had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy , now waiting on the main results , has anyone had these results before ?

  • Hi yes

mine was her2 negative had lunpectomy and sentil node biopsy fo me it was bad news I had one positive node then had full node removal in a 2 nd operation but thankfully then all nodes were clear I then went on to radiotherapy and I take tamoxifen I finished everything in nov I now have to go once a year for mammogram

    good luck love Lara ️

  • Sorry to hear you went through this Lara , was your results of your biopsy clinically node negative aswell ? They says mine is caused by the hormone estrogen ? Is that what you had too ? Sorry all the questions , glad your all good now xxx

  • Yes my biopsy was showing clear but after operstion sadly there was a teeny tenby trace in one sentil node yes exactly same diagnosis don't worry about questions I'm here to help but also don't want you thinking this could be the same for you please don't worry my lovely

I also had the Oncotype to determine if chemo was fequired but it came back so so low with one positive node

  • What is oncotype Lara ? So nervous wait for these results next Friday , surgeon said the morning befire my operation that it was unlikely it spread but they still need to take the lymph nodes away , he said as my is hormone based il need to prob go on a tablet for five years x

  • Yes my consultant told me the same she was in total shock when this came back she told me the day after operation it looked clear also , but this don't happen to everyone so don't worry I just have to give you my honesty reply

so I was told no Chemo ect after my sentil node came back I was told it's all change and chemo was now required this had not been mentioned prior I was told operation radio and tablets all through so then I had to wait to see oncologist

the Oncotype DX is a test they send your tumour to America to see if chemo will benefit you it comes back with a reoccurrence score so if the score is low Chemo won't benefit if it's high they offer chemo I bought all the wigs all the bands and didn't require it afterwards the oncotype is amazing it really have me clousure as I was a nervous wreck but now I'm at peace .

im hete don't worry about questions lovely I will always answer truthfully and based on my experience

    loveclara ️

  • Thank you and appreciate you being truthfully , was your lump big ? I got taken the day before fur the injection for the dye but they never told me how that went either x

  • My lump was under 10 mm

they never told me how the blue dye went either

they just said early early stage and lucky I caught it very slow growing and oestrogen fed

so I now take the tablet to block it I take for 5 years

    love Lara ️

  • I'm not in menapuse yet so I take tamoxifen I was so worried to start them read horrid stories but honestly they are fine I had a different brand last month which were horrible side effects brands vary with side effects the ones I get are great no side effects at all I keep to same brand I ask my chemist to order the same brand for me and I have no problem at all

  • Hi

Sorryto hear your diagnosis. It's a real shock to hear you have cancer.

I had very similar experience to you. Call back from mammogram just after Christmas and 6 mm cancer found. Was Er positive HER negative and slow growing ..I too had surgery last week for lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy. I have a follow up appointment now for mid March to get my results. I was told at my diagnosis appointment that it's unlikely to have spread because of the size and that on the ultrasound the nodes looked clear. My consultant also said that in nine out of ten cases given size and grade all comes back clear. That doesn't stop me worrying . I was told I would need radiotherapy and would be leterozole for 5 years thereafter. Please let me know how you get on as it sounds like we are going through similar experience at the same time . Like you I am hungry for information and to understand what it all means . I hope your result go well.
How are you after the op? I am a little sore but all seems to be healing well. I get the dressing off today and am going for physio follow up. Keep in touch please would be good to share journey together.

  • Thank you Lara will let you no how it all goes x
