Hey, im so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Like you, I was told Friday (23rd Dec) after a 2nd mammogram and biopsy that it was felt i too have Breast Cancer. Whilst im awaiting results of the biopsy on either the 3rd or 6th Jan is agonising. I am supppsed to have a hip replacement on the 6th Jan but have been told to place this on hold. All over Xmas the family have been talking nothing but the op as I havent yet broke the news to them. This is to take place later this week as I just dont know how to tell my parents and my sons and daughter (they all are adults at least) and im single so have no one at home to lean on.

Have you had your test results confirmed at all? Ive been told that once the results are back and they have identified what "breast cancer" I have, they will then talk about the type of treatment needed. I would think this will be the same for you. 

The group here makes you fell less alone in this, so do take comfort that there are so many of us facing uncertainty and many questions that we want to know the answer to.

Im just telling myself that I have an illness, that the treatment plan is in progress, and that I just have to do whatever is needed to get back to a healthy status.

Hiya Lula, thankyou so much for your reply, it means a lot, I had a biopsy on the13th dec and diagnosed on the 21st, it is early stage cancer and apparantly curable, I see the oncologist on the 11 th Jan to discuss the chemo and target therapy to kill the protein that is feeding the cancer, I will have about 6 chemos then a lumpectomy then more chemo, I'm so scared of the side effects, I would love for us to keep on touch on our journey, I will be telling my son and friends tmrw, not looking forward to that at all, I do hope you will be ok and I'm here for a chat if needed, I'm hoping that this forum will help along the way, take care and I send you my love, jean xx

So sorry to hear about your diagnosis.  I have recently been diagnosed with TNBC and had my first chemo last Thursday.  I had stopped eating for a week before, was having panic attacks and unbearable anxiety. 

If you read my first post, you will see what I have been through with the hospital. 

I ended up buying an online course and it honestly changed my mindset. 

All I can say about the chemo (3 hours for first session) is that I have had absolutely no side effects apart from some foods (sadly Maltesers!) taste a little different. I haven't even felt nausceous.  I know that this could change at any point with more chemo but so far, so good!

I've recently finished my treatment which was chemo and radiotherapy. Although I dont have breast cancer and everyone's treatment is different I just wanted to reassure you that not everyone is super poorly with chemo. 

I was exactly like you and I was terrified of being ill when I had no symptoms from cancer making me unwell. I had 6 rounds of chemo and had absolutely no side effects whatsoever until afterwards. Even then it has only been ringing in my ears. It's driving me insane if I'm honest but much rather that than sickness or nausea. I had not a single minute of either and once I'd settled myself down I decided to enjoy the time during chemo sessions to put my feet up and relax. I took a nice snuggly blanket with me, a bag full of snacks and loaded my tablet up with things I wanted to watch and books I wanted to read. 

Try not to worry until you have to became my mantra. Sending love and strength cos I know you can do this
