Waiting for Chemo

My wife is starting Chemo on 22nd July, she has triple negative beast cancer. My concern is the wait for Chemo.  She was told on 21st June that she had cancer, and has had to wait a whole month to start the Chemo. Yes there have been varous tests, up until now. But by its nature it is an aggressive Cancer so it needs to be treated asap. I am concerned we are seeing the effects of the NHS under strain and lives will be lost because of lack of resources/ capacity.  Does this time frame seem normal to start Chemo?

  • hello there, I just wanted to tell you that I was diagnosed on Jan 25th this year and started chemo on the 22nd Feb and I am private. As worrying as it is, it seems a normal time frame and at least you have a definite date for starting. I wish your wife all the luck in the world with her treatment. Hard as it feels right now for you both, you will get through this and time will pass quickly, once your wife has started her chemo routine. Stay strong. :)
