Just been diagnosed with lymphoma

Hi, I've recently been diagnosed with lymphoma , I'm in total shock, I lost my mum to lung cancer just over 4years ago, 5 days before Christmas. It's been difficult since her death.

I been told the cancer I have is treatable but not curable . I'm so confused I also have 5 year old twins and work part-time. My husband works full-time , I just don't know what I'm going to do when I have to have treatment, I'm worried about my husband and children how are they going to cope with me being sick, also financially ........ my head is just spinning with worry

  • Hi,

They staged mine at 4 as it had spread to mediastinal area although not too badly. Started my chemo on 5th so back again on 19th. 6 rounds of ABVD. Felt absolutely fine after first one, the steroid infusion beforehand made me feel great. No hair loss but fear it might happen after this weeks session.

Try not to worry about the chemo, I felt really anxious beforehand but it was ok (so far anyway) How many rounds are you having?

Im going to a workshop tomorrow run by maggies called look good feel better, gives tips on hair, make up etc for chemo patients.

Good luck and let me know how you get on xx

  • Hello there i was diagnosed 20 years ago with non-hodgkins lymphoma i was 39 years old. I had chemo and an operation because of complications my twins at the time were only 6 years old. My one wish was to see my twins grow up and i did they are now 27 years old. At the time i remember the consultant saying to me if your going to get cancer get this one as its the easiest to treat . Would just like to wish you all the best and keep strong its a journey and keep positive.
