Just been diagnosed with lymphoma

Hi, I've recently been diagnosed with lymphoma , I'm in total shock, I lost my mum to lung cancer just over 4years ago, 5 days before Christmas. It's been difficult since her death.

I been told the cancer I have is treatable but not curable . I'm so confused I also have 5 year old twins and work part-time. My husband works full-time , I just don't know what I'm going to do when I have to have treatment, I'm worried about my husband and children how are they going to cope with me being sick, also financially ........ my head is just spinning with worry

  • Hi Happydays76,

Firstly welcome to Cancer Chat, although I'm sorry to hear of your situation. I'm sure this must be a lot to process and I'm sure there are a lot of concerns and worries.

I know it can be easier said than done, but for now try to slow things down a little and take things one step at a time. It sounds like you are still waiting to hear more from your doctor/specialist, so hopefully you will soon have further opportunities to ask questions, talk things through, and discuss next steps, in order to help you process and plan things.

There is plenty of support available whenever you may need it. Again, you can speak to your medical team about this, but you can also have a look at Macmillan and Maggie's, who both offer a number of resources.

And of course we're always here for support on the forum. I hope that it can be of some help to you - feel free to use it whenever you feel you want to write things down, or to reach out to others. It's a very supportive community and there are lots of people here who understand.

    Wishing you all the best,
