Hi surgerynurse and welcome to the forum.
I'm glad to hear the bruising is starting to improve although I'm sorry about the sharp pains you've been having.
Being sore or experiencing pain or tenderness after a biopsy is usually quite common but if you're concerned then do be sure to have a chat with your GP or your medical team.
Hopefully some of our members who have had this done will share their experiences with you soon as well but if you'd like to speak with one of our cancer nurses about this, they're just a phone call away on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
Wishing you all the best with your recovery and for your wide local excision next Monday.
Kind regards,
Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
Morning,
I also had a biopsy, I had a lot of discomfort and bruising from that, just like you.
I now 5 weeks post op from sentinel node removal and lumpectomy.. fully expected to be in pain/discomfort for a couple of weeks then I would be fine. It’s taken till now the feel normal again.
Although everyone is different I wish I had know that it could take a while to recover, I would have been less anxious. Be prepared to start your exercises as soon as possible as this definitely helps to gain full movement.
Honestly you will get there but listen to your body, take your time and don’t try and do too much too quickly.
Good luck with operation tomorrow. Let me know how you get on.
Take care xx
