Frightened of what's coming.

Hello  I'm not really sure what I will get out of being on here  but  I know I'm not the only one  who has been diagnosed  recently and is frightened of what I'm going to be going through

  • Thank you for taking the time to message me means  a lot

  • Hiya,

just wanted to say hi - I'm in a similar situation. Was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer in February. Due to have hysterectomy on Wednesday. Thankfully the MRI I had post diagnosis suggests it's been caught very early and is a slow growing cancer. This will be all confirmed by histology after the op.

I found it difficult to get my head around the diagnosis at first - kept thinking they might have got the wrong person, lol! I do feel nervous about my forthcoming op and what to expect beyond this.

When I was diagnosed, I was given the details of a specialist nurse to contact with any questions. Have you been offered the same? I'm amazed how much info that I have been told but then promptly forgot!! I think it must be anxiety that does that!

Great that you are reaching out here - there are lots of people who have come out the other side and it's good see that there are lots of amazing cancer survivors out there  xx

  • Hello Mummypea

I was diagnosed in January with rectal cancer  after having a colonoscopy  ive have had lots of MRI CT and PET scans. The cancer has spread to my liver too. I have a doctors appointment next week to talk about my up and coming operation to remove the tumour in my bowel it also looks like I'm gonna have a permanent stoma :(

I keep thinking  and feeling is this real  I can't be that unlucky  as I've already went through so much in my life  what with a hysterectomy  ruptured brain aneurysm  chronic pancriatus  and now this.  I must have been a bad person in my previous life

Yes I was given a cancer nurse and put in contact with lavender Touch who are helping with my anxiety  maybe worth a try for yourself

Thank you for taking your time to chat to me xx

Sending Strength and love to you ️
