Totally amazed I've had no side effects from Letrozole

when i was told i had to take letrozole and have radiotherapy i was so frightened because of what i had read on the forum, of how it had affected people in a bad way.  In fact i was more scared of the after effects from taking tablets than i was of the cancer.  I need not have worried, i have been taking letrozole now for over 3 months and have had no side effects whatsoever.  Also no side effects from the radiotherapy.  So please think positive you may be one of those lucky ones.

  • Hi [@jeddington]‍ I agree with you that's it's good to share positive stories on this front too. I had breast cancer a year ago and had radiotherapy and then was put on Anastrozole (similar to Letrozole) for 5 years. I had no side effects from radiotherapy apart from some tingling after the first session and 10 months in with the Anastrozole    I am completely symptom free. My ankles and knees ached for a couple of days and then nothing after that and I'd never know I was on it.

I was terrified of starting on the drug but my oncologist advised me to try it and see how I went. Generally I think people only share stories when it has not gone well (which must be tough for those involved) and less is known about those of us who are not negatively affected.

Hope it all continues to go well for you x

  • i am so glad you are symptom free also.  I have very sensitive skin so when i was told i had to have radiotherapy and that there may be side effects like blistering of the skin in the treated area, i thought i was sure to get it, but i was fine.  Hope everything goes well for you also, keep safe xx
