Chemo in Breast Cancer
Hi , I've read that there are chemo drugs where you don't lose your hair.
Can you ask your doctor/consultant about them or don't they take your wishes in consideration?
Does anyone know? TIA

Hey Billy
It means “thanks in anticipation” xxx
Hi Steff13
I was on a chemo drug where I didn’t lose my hair, but the chemo you are on depends on your cancer type-you don’t get to choose which chemo to have. x
Dear pat thanks we both had a good laugh at Tia (thanks in anticipation,)never heard of that before
Hope things are going well with everyone.
Love Billy xxxx
Every day’s a school day Billy-we can always learn something new! It can be “thanks in advance”.
Keep teaching Brenda all the new ones you learn! Hope you’re both doing ok and feeling well. All fine here thank you. xxx
Hello and thank you Billygoatt and Minska, I'm new to all this only had my breast & Lymphnode cancer diagnosis on tuesday. 2 days later I've been officially diagnosed with Lymphoedema in my arm too.
I'm still waiting for the ct scan and for a treatment plan, but I think the doc will do that when she has all the results.
With TIA I mean "thanks in advance"
Steff
Hi Steff
So sorry to hear of your diagnosis- it is very hard at the start of this process before you know more. I had a different type of cancer, so had a different chemo to whatever you might be having.
Yes, your consultant will pull together all of your results and then a treatment plan will be made. There are lots of lovely helpful ladies who have gone through or are going through breast cancer treatment who can help you.
If you amend the title of your post to include the words breast cancer, I’m sure lots of them will come along to offer support and advice. x
Hello thank you for your kind words. I have to admit that it is hard to find your way through all this.
I'm not the person who asks for help , I have always relied upon myself rather than others. So its difficult for me to share what's wrong with me and to ask the questions. I know I shouldn't be shy about it cos everyone here has either been through it or are going through it right now and they understand how I feel.
Thanks again and take care
I know what you mean about finding it difficult to share, but you might find it really helpful to connect with other ladies who will understand your concerns. It’s scary to be told you have cancer, and can really help to share your worries. There are lots of threads about breast cancer and treatment on the forum, so you could look at those and find others in the same boat. Even reading them might be helpful to you, but please don’t be too shy to ask any questions-everyone is really helpful and understanding. x
Hello
Your oncologist will let you know the chemo drugs you will need that will be the best for you.. I had FEC chemo drugs after breast cancer surgery and did lose my hair but my cancer was HER positive. My hair has grown back and I've been to the hairdressers today for cut and blow dry!
