Husband diagnosed with prostate cancer

My husband has been diagnosed with prostate cancer following sudden onset of abdominal pain. We are told his presentation is unusual. MRI and lymph node biopsy suggested an extensive tumour , and decision made by MDT to progress to ADT immediately. No prostate biopsy done, and therefore no Gleason scale ( and Gleason cannot now be done as therapy started)

MRI results state T3b. N2. M0. Initially told advanced cancer, subsequently refered to as metastatic.

I am assuming my husband has a high risk cancer. Can any offer confirmation or advice ? Have been referred to Urology Oncologist but advises 6 week wait for appointment

Thank you

  • Hi Billygoat Thank you for taking the time to reply, particularly as you must be so busy caring for your wife I found your reply really reassuring, as did Tony my husband when I read it to him. From going to A and E to a confirmed diagnosis was only 16 days, although the A and E Consultant was referring to Cancer after a few hours Thank you again for replying and sending very best wishes to you and your wife T x
