I couldn't tolerate this and eventually got a second opinion and was told I didn't need it because of type and size of tumour etc.

i couldn't get out of a chair unaided and was suicidally depressed.

it seems to be part of standard protocol but there is a lot of evidence that women don't take it but don't tell their doctors

many thanks for your response my tumour was a grade 2 the size of a pea with no sores to lymph nodes, having a month of radiotherapy and 5 years if this drug.

have always kept fit but now at the age of 59 feel like a 90 year old and finding it really tough to get up i the morning ️

Exactly the same as me and I had two years of tamoxifen the anastrazole which is very similar.i was told with tiny tumour and no nodes risk was infinitesimal and I am now 15 years on.you have to have quality of life !

That's fantastic news your 15 years on from your cancer and yes we do need to have a quality of life, and not just an existence.

i am talking to the breast cancer nurse tomorrow so I will post the out come if that discussion.

i found my lump on the 14/7 and had it removed the 12/9, I thought the drugs would be manageable, not life changing.

I agree it is a wonderful service the nhs gives us and j know this is the best drug for breast cancer.

i don't mean or intend to come across as moaning, I'm just finding it hard to cope with daily stuff and be a carer for my don when my joints are so stiff.

but count myself as very lucky and blessed.

i know it is v hard to come to terms with all the meds was taking none before i was diagnosed in jan also on biphosphonates and vitamin D hope it gets better for you have down days too !

I have just experienced the same problem, I have been on letrazole since April/May, I was ok to begin with but last month I was given a different make and all my joints ached and I was contemplating stopping them all together as I had no quality of life. I spoke to my docs and they gave me another prescription, I also spoke to the chemist and was prescribed yet another make, touch wood these are ok, there is definitely a difference in makes which you wouldn't think, persevere with your doc cos we have to take these tabs to prevent the cancer coming back so they should listen and understand. If you do not have any joy with the docs talk to the cancer team, good luck.

Thank you for your comments, it's good hear you have experienced the same as me, I will persit and get my brand changed and hopefully I will achieve this with the cancer nurse tomorrow.

I think hospital doctors just follow protocols not people.Letrozole actually is for oestrogen -sensitive women and I looked up the original research when they were trying to poison me with.Something like1% reduction of a 1% risk
