Hi,
Its been almost 10 years since benign brain tumor debulking and 30 rounds of r/t. Fortunately my condition has remained stable since.
That said fatigue related issues are my biggest complaint these days. My neurosurgeon advised me to seek advice through cancer forums from individuals who may be experiencing similar problems.
I manage fatigue as best I can (1hr daily naps/rests, etc), that is fine. My biggest problem is the affect that r/t has had on my brain. The tumor is in the pineal region and my pituitary gland was affected from the r/t. My testosterone levels fell to a low level (now being replaced using Testogel), and I lost a lot of muscle mass. I go walking when I feel up to it and my diet is not bad. However there is a very fine line between enough activity and too much activity.
I cope as best I can but if I do anything physical I am likely to experience great levels of brain fog, dull headaches, dizziness, difficulties functioning in general, lasting 2/3 days. I have a 2yr old and 3yr old so I would like to improve my time with them.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
