Dealing with it

I'm finding it really hard to move on after my treatment of skin cancer, I've had a basal cell and a melanoma removed, if anybody wants to share their story with me I'd appreciate it!!!! I have to young boys, my youngest was 5months when I got the news and it hit me hard!!!!! Just want to chat to anybody going through it to know I'm not losing my mind and it's ok to feel like this!!!!

  • Hi Gaynork No you are not losing your mind. I felt the same its like losing your safety net you are being put back in control. Its 20 months since I finished my treatment and just over 12 months since my last scan when I was told it was clear. Even though I go for regular check ups it was still very scary at first. Your life will go more back to normal and this feeling will pass. The next thing is that every ache and pain you think "is it cancer" , you read symptoms into everything. You have to get on with your life now, nothing will be the same as it was before but you will find that every day becomes more normal. Remember you are not alone many of us have gone through treatments for various cancers and are here to support you.
