Tongue cancer

Hi I'm Janet, I was diagnosed with left tongue based cancer last year, which had spread to a lymph node in my neck, stage 3 cancer. After chemo and six weeks of radiotherapy I am now in remission. I'm having the usual two monthly check ups with oncologist etc. im getting on with my life and feeling fine, but worried it will come back. Can't seem to get this worry from my head. Is this normal? I asked why me when I was told, and the answer was "bloody bad luck" I've never smoked and only drink on special occasions.

  • Hello Janet,

You have joined the right forum to meet others with tongue cancer. We have so many people here who have had tongue cancer, so many tongue cancer survivors and I am sure they will be along soon to talk to you.

I thought I would point you in the direction of a couple of tongue cancer threads so you can connect with others in a similar situation if you wish. The most recent thread is this one so feel free to share your experience there. We also have a record breaking tongue cancer thread that has 743 replies. You can read Nicola's story here. It's a great thread to connect with others who are in remission from tongue cancer.

I hope this helps a little and feel free to respond to any tongue cancer thread you choose!

    Best wishes,
