My Journey Continues

Hi all my forum buddies.  Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began.  Hope to see you here. Jules

  • Hi Hazel,  just back from a weekend at friends and just wanted to say hope the planned appointment goes ok today.  As they say 'needs must' but Iam always glad when over and done with.

Glad you had a nice holiday.  This sort of sets us up for the changing season. My holiday back in June  seems a long time ago now so it will soon be time to book up for next year!

    Take care. Jules

  • Hi Brian,

No doubt the coming days will be very busy (and somewhat tiring) for you both but just wanted to let you know that I will be thinking of you andMrs B and know you will get through it all together as always.  Best regards and virtual hugs.  Jules

  • Hope all goes well for Mrs B today, Brian.  Thinking of you both, take care.

  • Thanks, Jules.  Yes, it went okay, just arrived looking like a drowned rat from the non-stop rain and got home even wetter after a bit of shopping on the way back!  Still, after changing into dry clothes and a nice cup of coffee all was well again!

  • Hi  Jules and Hazel

Thank you so much for the kind words.

Mrs B has now had her operation and as I told her she would, she has absolutely sailed through it. The staff were kindness itself, and we we put in a little side ward where i was able to stay with her all day, well from 11,30 until about 6.30. It was nice to be able to stay with her and support her. Her op lasted about two hours and then 30 minutes in recovery then they brought har back to the room.. She has luckily not had any pain just a little soreness which is understadable. Its now my turn to look after her.

Our son came and picked us up. She is okay this morning and has had a good nights sleep.

Hazel glad your .appoinment went okay. They only found the small lump through Mrs B mamogram. She was called to a hospital some distance awy from where we live and was told she hadnt got cancer. But a lady doctor wasnt happy with what she had been told and called her back again for a biopsy. The lump was then found so sincere thanks go to that lady doctor.

Take care bothe of you and thanks again, Brian

  • Hi Brian,

Delighted to get the update on Mrs B and that all went well and so far so good with her recovery.  She is definitely made of strong stuff (just like youself).  Glad too that your son was able to bring you both home after a long day at the hospital.  You always feel better once in your own home I think. Thank goodness for the mammogram and doctor's good sense.

Am away this weekend spending some time with my daughter and family so no doubt plenty of walks with their rescue dog. He seems to be settling in really well.

Take care and wishing you both a very peaceful weekend.  Jules

  • So pleased all went well for Mrs B, and what luck that that doctor at the hospital double checked!  Hope she is doing okay -  I'm sure you are looking after her well, as she does you.  What a lovely pair of tough cookies you are!

    God bless, Hazel xxx

  • Hi Jules and Hazel

Hope you are both okay and please accept my apologies for not replying sooner.

Hope you dont mind a joint message. I just dont know where time has gone this week.My doctor has told me I am okay to drive again so have had to fill in a stack of forms to send of to the DVLA, so hopefully I should soon be on the road again just like in the song of the same name ha ha..

Mrs B is continuing to improve although she is very bruised. All the plasters are now off; I was very reluctant because I was worried about wither she had healed enough but she couldnt do it herself. Luckily Its all healing up nicely. Helped her with the housework as normal today. But I am having a job to stop her overdoing things. She like me is very independant minded and hates having to ask me to help but as I pointed out to her she helped me when I first came out of hospital. She in turn pointed out that she had the same problem with me as she thought I was often overdoing things.

We have both found it has affected our energy levels quite significantly.  I did three shortish walks yesterday and came home quite fatigued each time.

It is a lovely morning here in Sussex with not a cloud in the sky but not very warm as yet. My son is taking our granddaughter back to uni tommorrow. Have mowed both front and back lawns this week and helped Mrs B deadhead our rose bushes. My sister who lives in this country sentme an e=mail the other day only it didnt look like the way she would have worded it so I tried phoning her. It turns out her computer has been hacked and they have downloaded all her e-mail contacts. They were asking for money saying she had been taken ill. so she was having to phone all her friends telling them not to answer the e-mail. for as her son pointed out they might have then been able to download all their e-mail contacts.

Before I went to the hospital with Mrs B I downloaded all my stories onto my kindle and also found a free word processer for it as well.

Thank again ladies for your kind words. semding kind thoughts to you both, Brian

  • Hi Brian,

Joint messages just fine.  The last few weeks must have been challenging for you and Mrs B.  We all like to  be able to do things for ourselves and life gets frustrating when we have to pace ourself. Good to hear that things are now going fairly well and hope that both your health issues are getting the treatment needed as and when required.  Not easy to avoid the 'running before you can walk' scenario but just know we have to be sensible for the longer term benefits.  Hope it is not too long before the DVLA get your paperwork logged and you are mobile again as this will certainly help too.

I had a day out yesterday attending a photography workshop at the London Wetland Centre. Very interesting and finally know a bit more about the tech on my camera and had fun experimenting and a few laughs at the efforts as the group (there were 9 of us) were a friends bunch (7 of us all had the same 'set on auto' routine to break).

Have my sister in law arriving tomorrow for a few days so will be good to have a catch up.

Hope you have a peaceful and more relaxing weekend.  Take care of each other.  Jules

  • Hi Jules

Its pouring with rain here at the moment and we have been told there is a risk of thunderstorms laterso wont be going out into thge garden today

Bet you enjoyed your photography course. I dont see anything wrong with using the auto button. You certainly take some wonderful pictures.

I went to the dentist yesterday and because of my recent op, she was only able to just look at my teeth for which I was charged over twenty pounds. I hope in the near future to have a new top plate made and when overthe years I have had a few extra teeth taken out and added to the plate it has almost dissapeared behing my top teeth ha ha.

On Saturday my son took our grandaughter back to UNI and the drive took him just over six hours as the M25 was very slow moving. Normally it only take two and a half hours.

Have been making good progress on my latest story and have written 19 pages and am just over half way through the story. I at present have 15 stories under construction. I find I use the first few pages to lay down the foundation for the srory much like you do with a house.

Sending kind thoughts to you and your family, Brian
