My Journey Continues

Hi all my forum buddies.  Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began.  Hope to see you here. Jules

  • Hi Brian

Wishing you a successful Show this coming weekend.  Hope it goes well and that the hard work everyone puts in will be justly rewarded.  Sounds as though you are being keeping everything on track and no doubt the extra chestnuts provide the fuel!!

I spent last weekend with friends and went to two social events with them.  I somehow managed to have lucky raffle tickets at both venues so come home with a couple of goodies towards the upcoming festive season and a lovely catch up too.

A busy week this week and my sister in law arrives Thursday to join  me for Christmas and stays with me for a week.Visiting Mum as per usual today and then the gym for some relaxation! Two work shifts left to get through but being busy keeps the mind occupied.  Will be having all the family to me on 23rd.  Back to work Boxing Day and then after my sister in law returns to the Isle of Man I will get time to spend a couple of days with my daughter and family.  Before we know it 2019 will be here.

Wishing you, Mrs B and the family a peaceful and happy Christmas.  All the very best for 2019 too and thank you for all your contributions across this forum plus your continued support on my own thread.

Hazel  and anyone else happening to read this thread may you have peace at this time and always.

    Best regards,  Jules

  • Thank you so much, Jules.  God bless, and enjoy everything you have planned (sounds like you'll be busy!)

    Hugs, Hazel xxx

  • Hi Jules and Hazel,

Even though Mrs B scolded me, I still bought some more chestnuts yesterday as they were still on offer but I have given two bags to my son (Like father like son ha ha) Have been rather lazy the last few days but have got to get my stuff ready for our show on Saturday.

Had lots of rain here this morning. Had to take Mrs B for her diabetic check up and there were lots of water on the road so at least it should have washed the underside of my car. (I made a trip tp our local tip and the road was covered in mud the other day)

My youngest grandson has got flue type syptoms and is feeling washed out and has not been to school this week. Breathing through his tracky means he has very little resistance to colds ect so hope he recovers for Christmas. When our son was at school, nearly every Christmas he would get a cold or the flue just before Christmas and he's a very generouse person and always gave it to me and Mrs B so we hardly ever had a illness free Christmas because of it. He had recovered  and was bouncing about and wanted us to play games with him which was the last thing we felt like

Jules. Sounds like you are in for a busy Christmas and really hope you have a great time.7

Hazel Take care. I posted a double rainbow on the beatiful pictures thread a few days ago. Take care .

Wishing all of you a very merry Christmas and a heathy new year, Brian

  • Hi Brian

Hope you and MrsB are keeping well and wish you both all the best for the coming festive season.  Fingers crossed that your grandson will soon be recovered too and be able to enjoy himself.

I am not sure when I will pop back on as have my sister in law due today.  Unfortunately she was caught up in the Gatwick drone saga yesterday and spent a day at Douglas airport.  Put up overnight in the airport hotel and has been flown to Liverpool this morning and is now on a train to bring her south before catching the underground to me.  We will enjoy a couple of relaxing days I think!!  So many travellers not nearly as lucky as she has been.

Last gym visit this morning though will pop my head round the door on Christmas Eve when I go to the butchers. Will return after my New Year trip to my daughter and family.

Take care and have a peaceful Christmas.  I am off into the garden to fill up the bird feeders as the sparrows are queuing ha ha.

    Best regards Jules

  • Thanks Jules,

Hope your sister in law arrived okay.

I wont be posting tommorow because of my exhibition so have do two lots today.

Wishing you and your family all the very besy for Christmas, Brian

  • Help, I can't find my double rainbow, Brian!  Thank you for thinking of me anyway, bless you.  Tell you what I did like, the two puffers side by side and the Autumn tree reflected in the water with the flowers in front.  Both smashing.

Hope all goes well with your show today, and that your grandson recovers from his flu okay, poor little fellah.

Take care and have a lovely Christmas with Mrs B and your family, and here's wishing you a Happy New Year with lots of chestnuts and cheese straws!

PS, panic over, found my rainbow pic - thank you!

  • Wishing you a very happy Christmas and New Year, Jules.  Take all care and enjoy!

  • Good morning Jules and Hazel,

Just wanted to thank you both for your kind wishes regarding our show. We were concerned the date was to near to Christmas and that we didnt have some of our usual exhibitors due to illness and the fact our toy maker was playing Santa Cluase. But we neednt have worried for it was another very succesful show with loads of nice comments fron the public and we all sold well, In fact I did the best ever. My water mill sold which was the most expensive item in my stand so well pleased

We have also got several potential new members from the show. Will post some pictures from the show when I have sorted them out, We have a 93 year old lady master carver in our group who still gives two seperate carving classes per month. She is a fantastic lady with a briliant sense of humour and it was great she was able to get a lift into the show as she live quite a distance away.

Everyone pitched in and helped set up and breakdown the show and we have two newish member who helped with this, Thouroughly enjoyed my day but boy o boy was I tired when I got home last night. Still have to unload the car as I just parked it in my garage last night so have got to wait for it to stop raining first.

I wish you both a great and enjoyable Christnas, Brian

  • Hi Jules,

I lost a filling on Friday and it didnt bother me over the weekend, But last night my tooth gave me so much grief it woke me up twice, So phoned my dentist this morning and they were able to see me at ten-o-clock and have had the filling done, Now my pocket hurts as much as my tooth did ha ha.

Have just about re-covered from my Saturday fair.

Take care and have a very happy Christmas, Brian

  • Glad the show went well, look forward to the photos in due course.

Go easy on those chestnuts, don't want that new filling to come out - typical, though, isn't it, just when everywhere is closing down for a weekend or holiday?  Lucky your dentist was still open!

    Have a good Christmas.
