Hi all my forum buddies. Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began. Hope to see you here. Jules

Thanks so much, Jules. I do like doing the garden, but as you say, it's even nicer to be able to sit in it and admire your handiwork! Trouble is, I always see something I've missed and have to jump up and do it, even if it's just a few blades of grass longer than the others! Your garden looks lovely, I bet it would get a nomination if people saw it, Jules, I'm sure Diane would agree.

Yes hazel definitely would agree. Jules I have no doubt if your area did a compatition about gardens yours would be in the running -Diane x
The viewing of my garden would be best from space - my lawn may be green but it is more weeds and moss than grass - however if I took them out it would be rather bare and I have no plans to refurbish the garden as well as the house - pocket not big enough!! Chat soon. Jules x
Hi all
Having just congratulated Brian on his gold stars award though I would update my thread!! Do not wish to steel his thunder (and no awards for me either) but following my week of sensible eating am pleased to say that at the gym weigh in this morning I was 3lb lighter. Needless to say I have now got the impetus to keep it up until my weekend away by which time hopefully will have put 'comfort eating' on to an occasional footing rather than a regular 'need' (well until the next emotional blip should come along to spoil the party!!).
Had lunch with friends today and off to visit Mum again tomorrow (will pop in on Mother's Day too though she has already told me not to bother her! ). Whatever I do will be a nuisance in her eyes so am in a no win situation but will go with my heart as always.
Hope everyone is having a peaceful and relaxing day or if you are busy it is because you want to be! Hugs from Jules xx
That's great jules that's a big achievement and you must be feeling great after hearing that. I went to the gym and today was all about strengthening the heart with some excersizes. My friend was talking rubbish about checking for circulation don't know where she got that from ha ha. After the gym I went shopping went to my sisters then went to the market for a few things and headed home to a bunch of ironing. Hope you enjoy the rest of your evening -Diane x
Hi Diane
Sounds like you had a busy day. I also did a spot of shopping before meeting up with my friends and managed to find a swimsuit for my summer hols. Strange that you can find something different when in actual fact I had been looking for gym leggings at the time! Found the leggings in a different shop so quite happy. Yes, definitely pleased to have broken my bad habits (weight loss was a bonus and only goes to show that I was eating too much! I have found it okay this past week so will hopefully have achieved a better mindset again now and am planning a similar week next week which will take me up to the weekend away with my daughter.
Am having a sleepover at my daughter's later in the week so she and my son in law can have a night out with friends who are over from Australia. Have a peaceful evening once the ironing is out of the way. Jules x
Well done, Jules! 3lb is quite a lot in a week, usually about 2lb, so gold stars for you as well!

Thanks Hazel, just goes to show how much extra I had been eating previously I think. Hope you having a peaceful evening. Jules x
Hi Jules,
and Hazel and Diane.
Have just had a really busy week and am now hoping to get back to a bit of normallity. I feel I have neglected people on here a bit this week for which I apologise.
Have had very good feedback regarding my first newsletter which I sent out on Tuesday. I was contacted by one of the first editors we had who told me he used to have to use a typwritter and cut out pictures from magazines and paste them onto the master copy so he could get them photocopied to sent out to members. It ties in nicely with an article I have just done, re the history of our newsletters. I have said we are able to inport photos and wrap text aroung them and send then out by e-mail; something unthinkable when we first started over 30 years ago. Have learnt so much about using Microsoft Word in the past week or two.
The lawn's are looking much better now I have done the second cut and are greening up nicely. The sun has just making an apperance as I write this but still not very warm. Bieng as I have just had another cancer meeting this morning, I told Mrs B I didnt want her to have to cook for me as I didnt know what time I would be back . But realy, it was just an excuse to get some chips on the way home ha ha. Mrs B knows me too well and guesed my reason straight away. No fooling her; she reads me like a book sometimes to my cost ha ha.
Will write more later and catch up with everyone. Take care, Brian.
.
Hi, Brian, you haven't neglected us at all, still put up lovely pics and quotes even though you've been so busy elsewhere. You can't be in two places at once, as it is I don't know how you fit it all in!
Great news that your first newsletter has been so well received, really pleased for you after all your hard work and problems with your online provider. I'm sure you'll go from strength to strength from now on.
Aha, so that's why you go to cancer meetings, so you can get chips for lunch, naughty boy! (Only joking, I know you do much good work there as well)
Hope you and Mrs B have a nice evening, and I expect family will visit tomorrow for Mother's Day? Enjoy!
Take care, Hazel x
