Hi all my forum buddies. Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began. Hope to see you here. Jules
Have a lovely day Jules won't you? Good luck on the drier - it will save you trips to the launderette = and then you won't know how you coped without the drier!! Glad things are busy for you = I always think its best and keeps me from being idle. My mum is back in her old nursing home aat last after being re assessed by the hospital people half a dozen times - would she tell them off if she had her mind. She is still very weak though - but at least we know she is safe.
Yea = it is funny returning to work after a break - First day - the worse day = thats the saying in work here!! But I am sure it will be fun to catch up with all your friends and hear whats been going on. We will be thinking of you these days as ever :-) and hope you keep safe and well. I like to wake up early and early morning I find peaceful and creative - its lovely just to listen to the radio at that time and feel the darkness in the bedroom until I get up.
Well, things are not too bad personally, we are waiting for tests as has become our life routine! Work becons - Saturday is jolly busy in the Supermarket and we await a new boss - Yuk!!
You take care and all fond wishes
Steven xx
Good Morning Garf
Whilst Hannach has no answers and still has to self medicate (hope that is helping with her pain). I am sure she will be much happier being allowed to be at home until they conduct the needed test (a great shame they could not do it when originally planned though). It might well be worth her family talking to PALS representative at the hospital in question as it sounds as though they feel let down by the system and need someone on their side to look into it.
Hope the 'busmans' side of your home leave is done and dusted quickly and that you enjoy your catch up with Claire (is she down or you going up?). Hopefully you will get some relaxing social time with Mrs G too.
For your excitement only() my new washer/dryer is to be delivered next week so can stop saving all my pounds coins and 50p's to feed into launderetet machines!! and spend them on something else (probably on guttering repairs!). My bereavement grant is being put to good use - new brick wall to make end of garden secure(being estimated today and my son in law is over-seeing this and the sale of hubby's car (what do I know about such things ha ha!!!!)). I am so lucky to have the kids close by and we are continuing to comfort each other in these early days of loss. Our son is away this weekend on a stag do for his best mate (he is best man in a couple of weeks so hope he does not lose the bridegroom whilst across the channel!).
Well, the sun is now up and looks like we are having a lovely day ahead to maybe I will get into the garden with the grandchildren later (I need to refil the bird feeders and they can 'try and help').
Take care of yourself. Hugs Jules x
Hi Ian
Just lovely to see your name appear on my thread and suspect its just as hard for you to post but I really appreciate the message. It was a long three years for hubby and I take much comfort in the fact that he is now free from the clutches of his disease which took his happiness away. I am surrounded by the love of my family and friends (and the ongoing support of virtuality buddies) and now, like you, my life must be lived to the best of my ability. Early days still but so many memories to cherish and share with others - a few late nights of 'story-telling' along the way.
Sending hugs and best wishes and hope all is well with you and Julie in your new life. Jules x
Good morning Jules,
I expect you have been or are going for your usual Sunday morning walk and allthough it's a bit cold, Its quite a nice morning for a walk otherwise. Took Mrs B out for a ride yesterday but I had a couple of lights come on my dashboard so had to cut it short. Electrics are playing up so if the fault doesnt clear up will have to get it checked out.
Bet you will be glad to get your new WASHER. Our old one used to sound like it was going to blow up the last time Mrs B used it as the bearing had gone. I have another cancer meeting tommorow afternoon so hope it will be okay.
Take care Jules, still thinking of you, Brian
Hi Kathy,
Just saw your post to Jules and read your comments about knicker elastic. You said you didnt use yours anymore but didnt say wither you ment knickers or the drier. Sorry Kathy
I have finishes all my nuts and Mrs B has told me, If I send for some flowers for her for Valentines day, she might make me some more cheese straws. I am convinced you ladies take a course on pyscology for you always seem to find a way to wrap us men around your fingers so to speak. I told Mrs B it was blackmail :devil:and all she did was to laugh. So I have had to give in yet again Kathy. Us men can never win.
Take care, best wishes, Brian.
Hi Steven
I am a lot happier knowing my Mum is currently in the safety of her residential home. Re-assessment Tuesday with new social worker (she has paid her own way until now but funds are limited - she has been a resident for over 2 yrs) so will see how that turns out. Although she suffers will bi-polar mental illness she still has her 'marbles' and will certainly tell them what she thinks! Sadly if they consider her to be able to cope with 'carers calling' they will transfer her out of residential home. To be honest trying not to think of worst case scenario just nw but cannot bury head in the sand!
Have started to sort paperwork again (this could take up all my spare time for a while!!) but hoping that trip to solicitors tomorrow will take away some of the hard work. My daughter is coming along so not facing things by myself (like having second opinion).
Popped into town today and have a few new treats for the garden birds so will put them up tomorrow. Gives me lots of pleasure watching them through the patio doors and the robins are particularly tame (have been known to sit on my chair in the summer). A little wren was very busy on the bird table this morning (sure sign is was a cold and frosty start).
Hope you had a good weekend. Regards Jules x
Hi Jo
Hope you have/are having a good weekend. Make the most of the lie-ins (my body clock just seems to refuse to recognise I am on leave!!). Bright and frosty start this morning but gloomy now. Happily the builder is known to son in law so will fit it in as soon as he can (its nothing fancy; just fed up of looking over a broken fence into the service road behind (hardly secure either!!)). Quite a few 'bits' to sort out in the home regard(bless him hubby hated 'outsiders' doing stuff he felt he should be doing them) but will get there eventually (am looking at it like a long term project and that each time a job is done I can cll it a mini achievement).
Hope you managing okay and bet Paddy enjoying your company for walkies. Take care and your kind words are much appreciated. Be good to yourself. Hugs Jules x
