My Journey Continues

Hi all my forum buddies.  Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began.  Hope to see you here. Jules

  • to all my great forum buddies your responses and kind thoughts mean so much and all is quiet here now so I shall have some reflective time.  Tomorrow I have time to prepare heart and home in readiness for Monday's  'Celebration of hubby's life' and hope his journey will be as dignified in death as it has been in life.

Time to sort the 'whys and wherefors in due time' but answers will be required so no one else has to go through such distress at time of grief when it could so easily have been avoided.  Hey ho, we all make mistakes; as they say 'to err is human'. Enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you may be up to. Kind thoughs and hugs   Jules xx

  • Well Jules Im so glad all sorted now but what a worry for you and your family at this very difficult time ..When Tony died our Gp was hereat our home as were macmillan nurse and district nurse ,a few mins after he had gone the Gp said she had to inform the coroner and the police had to come because mesothelioma is  an industrial desease within mins they came and took Tony to our Hospital in Truro he was there for 2 days the coroner said no need for a PMbecause his consultant said mesothelioma was the cause and an inquest was opened and ajourned until a later date which was 11 months later It was just read out and no questions ..I didnt get death certificate until then they had given me interim certificates to do all the things that needed to be done ie bank solicitor and things but all this made a difficult time harder on us all ,it was like a nighmare ,and all because  of  the mesothelioma sorry to babble on but needed to explane ,but it gets better in the end ...Jules im sending love and hugs for you all xxxxxxxSueanne

I am so glad that someone had their sensible head on. Your undertaker did a good job there. At least you will get to celebrate your husbands life as and when you planned.  I will be thinking of you tomorrow and on Monday, and pray that all goes as you would wish.

  • Thanks for letting me know how it went for you and I know how difficult it must be for you to recall the hardest time in your life. Just need to stay 'in the day' and honour my man.  Kids have been amazing in their courage and we will continue to support each other.  Our contact at the funeral directors deserves a medal - its the first time they had to deal with this particular situation and she will continue to be our go between in sorting our the formalities that follow  in the weeks ahead.

Zack experienced his first outing in the snow today (did not last long but grandchildren loved seeing it).Children staying here overnight Monday so have readied spare rooms.  Hubby's siblings came over from Isle of Man Thursday evening and it looks as though it will be the funeral before I see them as no contact as yet.. His brother and sister in law go back day after funeral and his sister is planning on catching up with old workmates the day afterwards and then returning too.

Well, a few more bits to do before getting some shut eye and an early start tomorrow at the launderette following by my usual Sunday  morning stroll(first Farmers'market of the New Year to drop in at).

Hope all is well with you and the family. Take care Jules x
