New Life Beyond Cancer hub

Finishing treatment can bring up all sorts of emotions, as well as the natural desire to want to get back to “normal”. Experiencing cancer treatment may also leave lasting effects and it can be difficult to know where to start on the path to normality.

Cancer Research UK has launched a new advice section to help you navigate life after cancer. If you or a loved one are adjusting to life after cancer treatment, visit Life Beyond Cancer for help and information.

We hope this hub will be a useful place to easily find any advice you might need, so do let us know what you think!

  • Hi Anastasia,

The new hub looks like something I would have found useful when I first came out of treatment.

Life Beyond Cancer as a title may cause some confusion though.

For example, I might have thought it wasn’t for me as I wasn’t told I had “no visible signs of disease” for at least 5 years into what I’d been told was “only a temporary remission - don’t get too excited!”

Life Beyond Cancer Treatment might have been a more self-evident title. The current title implies it is aimed at cancer survivors alone, rather than folk like me who are on a watch and wait regime with regular scans or people who are incurable whose treatment has ended to improve their quality of life.

There’s a link on the hub to this forum - so welcome to anyone who has joined us from there.

The hub looks like a really useful and well thought out resource. Congratulations to everyone involved in developing, testing and implementing it.

    Best wishes
    Dave

  • Hello Davek,

Many thanks for your feedback and I'll pass this onto the team behind the hub.

I agree with you I have only just come to the end of my first year in remission and didn’t know if this was for me or people further down the line. Thank you for pisting your thoughts.
