Separating from a partner whilst you're in remission

I'm in remission from brain cancer and my partner has become emotionally abusive and nasty since I've had to stop working. It's affecting my health recovery and I'm keen to separate as soon as possible, but amicably to reduce stress in future.  Has anyone been in a similar position and have some tips?

Thanks

  • I separated just yesterday and haven’t slept a wink. It is really hard. Have you got a domestic abuse team in your area. Their advice is invaluable. I am so stressed and having panic attacks but it will all be worth it I hope. The police were amazing. 2 came to the house and helped me gather all the things I needed for now, whilst fending off his usual remarks. I really thought they would arrest him but they didn’t. They helped pack everything up load it into the car and deliver it to my new address. People are against the police but they must have spent 3 hours with me. Just to let you know there is help out there. Good luck xxxx
