tamoxifen - I can finally stop taking them but feeling nervous about possible side effects

Hi, i had breast cancer in 2013 and had chemo, radio, herceptin and then tamoxifen for 10 years.   Just seen consultant who has said i can now come off them, asked him what side effects may i get and i got told none and you may well feel a lot better!!!  from what i have read on here that doesnt seem to be the case....so watch this space....

    I'm delighted to hear that you can finally come off Tamoxifen after 10 years. I had a lumpectomy in 2010 and took Tamoxifen for 1 year. I then discovered another lump in the same breast, a year after my first surgery and had a double mastectomy. As the Tamoxifen wasn't successful in keeping the cancer at bay, I then took Letrozole for 6½ years - at that time hormone therapy was mostly prescribed for 5 years. I had absolutely no problems when I stopped taking these and did in fact feel considerably better than I did when I was taking them.
