A year on from chemotherapy and I am wondering whether my shoulder length hair will still have the potential to become heavier and feel less soft as it was pre-treatment. I am in my early 60s.
It's not uncommon for hair to regrow as a different colour and/or texture following chemotherapy treatment and can be fragile. For lots of people, it also grows back softer than before. You can read about hair loss and cancer drugs on our website here.

I am 70 I had fine but thick hair before chemo. It grew back silver so gave up with highlights and use a Josh Wood wash sometimes to put a bit of warmth in. It's not as thick as before but very soft and shiny. I took a hair, vitamin for a while and use only organic shampoos and conditioners. Are you losing hair? I'm on Anastrazole hormone treatment which I believe can make hair thinner
Do you mind if I ask how long after chemo your hair is still curly please?
I finished at the end of November 2021 and my hair came back darker and curly but I've heard people say it will go back to how it was before but I kind of like the curls!
