critical Illness- will they pay out :(

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I went to the breast clinic for a rather large lump in my breast. They did a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. The doctor stated she’s confident I have breast cancer although still awaiting the results to confirm. This is obviously a shock at the grand old age of 31. I was diagnosed with BRCA 1 before Xmas 2019 also so a bit of a kick in the teeth.

last year I bought a house. I took critical illness cover out however it’s a complicated matter. I completed the medical questionnaire in March 2019. I asked the mortgage advisor to hold off implementing it until the house had been bought and I wanted to check around with other company’s.!

around May i went to have a lump checked in my breast by GP. She checked it and I returned in a month and said it was nothing to worry about.

The house purchase happened in July and the policy kicked in, without being discussed as to whether I still wanted the policy or not.

Therefore I didn’t but disclose reference a lump although no further investigation wasn’t done. Low and behold the lump Got bigger and now it’s cancer :(

I’m now desperately worried if it’s something sinister they won’t pay out because it wasn’t no disclosed. I am so scared and having somebody finiancial support would ease things a little. I also have group insurance with work so hoping they might still assist.
