Half Way Through Chemotherapy,HELP PLEASE.

So I'm going for my 1st CT scans on Friday,

The 1st scans since I was diagnosed and to say I'm a nervous wreck would be an understatement,

I wasn't expecting them untill after my 6th chemo but nurse said it's normal to have after my 4th,

I'm so afraid, what if the chemo didn't even touch the cancer?

Is it normal to feel this afraid before the big CT scans, I have to see the Top oncologist next Tuesday for results,

I'm dreading it all, please someone help me here with some advice on how to cope these coming days, please,x

  • I would say it's completely normal to be so nervous and worried about your upcoming scan results.

I have also recently just finished my fourth chemo and had a pet scan. I was so nervous about it having not worked. I dealt with it by just trying to stop my mind thinking about the cancer. Easier said than done but if you allow yourself to keep thinking about it that's when the anxiety really kicks in. Try to stop your thoughts in their tracks and occupy your brain with an activity of some sort.

I really hope your results give you some reassurance.

    All the best

  • Thank you so much Claire,

It's so hard hot to think of it,I'm trying to keep my mind busy, the the fear grips me once again,

Well whatever the case is, I have to face it one way or another,

Thank you for your reply and wishing you the best with your results,
