I am not an expert on this by any means.  However, my wife applied for PIP after many years of receiving DLA.  She was not successful. 

PIP is payable depending on how your condition affects your daily life, rather than on the name of the condition itself.  There is a massive form to fill in, which asks you what you can and can't do, what aids you might need, whether you need people to help you do certain things. You then get called for an interview and assessment.  After the assessment, you are given "points" for each area of daily life, and if you reach a certain number of points, then you get an award or not - usually not.

You should also be aware that PIP is a massive con by the fascist Tory/LibDem alliance which is solely designed to make it as difficult as possible to get an award, and to take existing awards away from those who previously had them under the previous DLA scheme.

There are numerous examples of people who had "lifetime" awards under the DLA scheme, being given zero points under the scheme, and hence losing their awards (and often their Motability cars). There are numerous reports of assessors carrying out dirty tricks to stop people getting awards.

If you still want to go ahead, then do NOT ask for a form until you've spoken to a disability charity and they've agreed to provide someone to help you fill it in. Do this before you ask for the form, because once you get the form, you only have four weeks to return it. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you attempt to fill in the form by yourself. You need the help of someone who has the experience necessary to advise you what needs to go into each section.  

Expect to be disappointed and get nothing. The PIP system is designed to pay out to as few people as possibe, and in many respects it is worse than nothing at all. 

Totally agree ... it's gone from one extreme to the other ... when will common sense take over from tick charts ... when there's a condition that is proved and life long, it should be automatic. . Those living alone, who can't get help, have no family... my heart goes out to them ... 

It's robin hood all over again ... just in reverse ... it's crule and oh so sad ... one question was can you put something in your top pocket ... yes I'm not dead yet lol ... that's the only thing my mother in law could do before she died . . So I suppose she wouldn't have qualified either .. x

thankyou for your input i shall seek further advice before committing myself at the moment i am receiving standard rate pip for other medical conditions namely  c.k.d and heart disease in which at first i was receiving high rate on dla once again thank you

Hi David if it is incurable talk to McMillan they got me full pip, and they filled in the form, I did not have to do anything
