Advice on driving after stereotactic radiosurgey

Has anyone had the above and how have they managed after treatment

  •  Hello, I had a craniotomy for a brain metastasis at the end of June and had to inform DVLA and after 3 months they hadn't looked at my form when I contacted them.! A few weeks later they wrote to say they had contacted the surgeon and I am waiting to hear but believe I will be unable to drive for a while. I was told I had to contact DVLA on the consent form before the op .  Good luck with your treatment.

  • I received stereotactic radio surgery for a metastes brain tumour, in June this year. I was told that I was not allowed to drive and had to advise the DVLA. They have contacted my consultant and I am awaiting their decision. There are guidelines on the website regarding the rules on driving. I know that in my case I may be unable to drive for 2 years. There's a backlog and it will be some months before they can assess the information received. Good luck and I hope all goes well.
