I have just got Travel Insurance with 'Worldwide Insurance', they were so much cheaper than anyone else and recommended by 'Cancer UK'. Get a quote, nothing to lose. Jean x
Hi Frankie I had an annual travel insurance and when I informed them of my cancer they said that they would still cover me but not for anything related to my condition. As this policy covered me for mountain biking I kept the cover with the intention of getting a top up policy. We booked to go to Austria in July and the only cover I could find cost a fortune. So I looked into the reciprocal cover with my European health card and Austria offered treatment of existing conditions. So the only thing I needed cover for was in case of cancellation or death due to the cancer. We weighed up the costs and took the risk. This is not an option I would advise for everyone but look carefully at everything. Some countries charge for interpretation and rack up the charge. I think the cost of insurance also depends on your stage and length of time from finishing treatment, which is why the quotes I had were so high.
