  • Your GP or chemo team can prescribe meds to help with this common side effect.  I have Ibotene and Nystan suspension and start using it the day after infusion rather than when symptoms start and have a bit of a grip.  Good Oral hygiene is really necessary.  There are antibiotics that really help in bad cases but I am away from home and can't remember the name of them - Fluocycillin rings a bell - your GP will know but he/she must check with the oncologist that they don't interact with your chemo drugs because there are a couple that they affect. Antiseptic pastilles ease the pain too.  Best of luck x
