Sorry to read about the discomfort you're going through. I remember it from experience! I found tepid baths to be quite soothing, but I can't remember adding salt. My discomfort got very intense towards the end of the radiotherapy sessions and in the few weeks after - I visited the nurse at my GP practice and she prescribed a cream called Flamazine (I know you're not really supposed to put anything on burns) but this stuff really helped and she checked it was ok to prescribe for me. Obviously, check with a medically qualified Practioner first.

I wonder if it's worth posting your question in the Ask the nurses section or giving them a ring on Monday?
If it's any consolation, the discomfort for me peaked for about a week after treatment ended, then as quickly as it seemed to build up, it disappeared.
