One for the Ladies

I have just finished my pelvic radiotherapy and have been told that in 4 weeks I will need to use a dilator (which could be for as long as 3 years!).  Do any of you have any experience of this and of lubricating cream.  The Gyney nurses at the hospital have given me some samples but would be interested in others experiences.  The two they recommend are "yes" and "sylk".

I have very sensative skin and have to be careful with shower gels etc so I am concerned in case I get a reaction - probably overworrying about this.

    That's definitely a question for the ladies! And I hope some ladies here will have some tips for you on this.

    In the meantime, I found some advice on our site specifically on dilators which may be useful for you. You can find out more on using vaginal dilators here.

    If you have any question, don't hesitate also to give our nurses a ring on 0808 800 4040 (it's free from UK landlines and most mobiles) Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
