Tongue cancer

A family member has recently had tongue cancer and had surgery to remove this but is at present on a soft diet I was wondering if anyone who had had this kind of cancer could help us to know if you can get back to a normal diet and Speach as she is finding this part very frustrating and any tips for her in the mean time?

  • Hi Tracy,

I don't know anything about tongue cancer but just wanted to say 'Welcome' and I'm sure that someone will be able to point you in the right direction with good information soon.

How long ago did your relative have the surgery and how is she doing in general (apart from the diet part of course, which you've already said she's struggling with)?

I hope you get some good replies soon,

    Best wishes, Dizzie xx

  • Hi Dizzie

Thanks for your welcome and kindness. I hope you are right about getting the answers soon would be good if someone who has been through this could let us know what happens over time. My relative is 3 weeks post surgery so early days but we see improvements everyday but she has her good and bad days. I think if she could get a clearer picture on what things could be like in a few months it would help, just every nurse or doctor tells her something different and just find no answers!! If anyone can help please reply x
