About Dizzie

Diagnosed in April 2010 with Rectal Cancer. Had Radiotherapy for 5 weeks in June - couldn't have the Chemo as suffered a serious viral reaction and it was stopped after 2 days. Had my surgery now (Nov 10) which is called APR and involved removal of the anus, rectum and approximately 15 inches of colon. This resulted in a permanent colostomy ... I was 49 yrs old when diagnosed. Mother of two lovely sons (one adult and youngest is 11 yrs old), mother in law to the most beautiful girl, and one little cat. I am happily married, work p/time in school admin and we live in London, UK I have a blog which you are welcome to read if you want to know any more about Rectal Cancer http://caroleandcancer.blogspot.com
