I just took my own risk and carried the GHIC card in case of acute medical emergency. Make sure you take that break it is very important. You could holiday in UK weather is forecast hot and dry for a week.

We have got our GHIC cards my problem is the holiday is all booked and played for, I’ve got a couple of  months so Ill keep looking, and if not I’ll see if my husband will go with your suggestion.

Hi Chip48.  I have just returned from a visit to oncologist and he has given me a leaflet for www.insurancewith.com .  I have stage 4 cancer and the quotes have been too expensive.  The Macmillan nurse said if you ring them you can get it cheaper.  Hope you enjoy your holiday.

thank you for you reply.  when my husband went for treatment a couple of months ago another patient gave him the details of insurancewith, I am in the process of finding out, they took all his details and now have to pass it on to medical screening , someone is supposed to be calling us tomorrow and apparently there will be more questions to answer,  I don’t hold out much hope but expect the worst and hope for the best.  
I’ll let you know how we get on.

I did a quote online with them and it was £117 for a week in Portugal in September which seems too good to be true.

Yes, I did mine over the phone, Mine’s For Greece for 24 nights I’ll just have to wait and see.  If your not sure phone them mind you it takes a long time to get through all the questions,  or you could just phone and see if they give you you online quote.

Hope you are enjoying the lovely summer and getting on ok with your treatment. Ill have to try another quote from insirancewith. Ive used them several times and had reasonable quotes. However they recently refused to insure me due to type stage cancer and because I was being treated with immunotherapy drugs cemiplimab and like you denosumab. £117 is a very good premium for a week.

My husband has just been turned down by insurancewith no explanation just a number to try another one, no luck so I’ve given up now it’s just not happening.

At least I got some quotes albeit expensive. 

Alternatively if your husband is OK to travel and you feel he is fit enogh just go without insurance. Your GHIC card will cover emergencies. And at worst you may need to pay for an early flight home. Hope you get your well deserved holiday.

we have spoken about the GHIC card and decided that’s the way to go, we still have a few weeks so Ill check out a couple more but not going to worry if I can’t get any.
