Travel insurance for Spain - I have stage 4 prostate cancer that's under control

Hi All, any advice on travel insurance for Spain, I have prostate cancer stage 4 metastatic, spread to my bones, although my cancer is now under control, and I am now mobile.
The insurance companies are either not interested or way to expensive, any tips on this problem?
cheers P

  • Hi, we found the same problem so we gave up on going abroad.  But try contacting Macmillan as apparently they can help

  • Thank you

I found All Clear to be the only insurance company who would take me on, it works out at approx £50 a day which is expensive

  • Hi, not sure if I’m too late replying to your post, only just seen it. I’ve got stage 4 PC with mets to various bones too and when travelling abroad I’ve used Insurancewith.com. Had very reasonable travel insurance through them. It’s best to phone them and they’ll go through questions specific to your cancer. Hope this is of help.

  • Hi Peter

I am receiving palliative care immunotherapy and finding it difficult to get travel insurance.

    Try this comparison website.

    www.medicaltravelcompared.co.uk/

I found a quote here it was around £45 day to Spain with esure

https://www.insurancewith.com/ would not insure me at all this time.

https://www.allcleartravel.co.uk/  would insure me but very expensive.

In addition I have a GHIC card which covers for emergency and accident health care abroad apply at

We have just returned from a trip to Spain and the break has done us more good than anything.

Would have stayed longer but next treatment is this coming week.

    Hope this is of help.
