After treatment fatigue

Hi all, new to this chat despite having been through the cancer experience but now feeling the need to reach out! I'm 41 years old and have a six year old (bit of background info) and I'm finding it harder now than when I was diagnosed! I had large lump in left breast and cancer spread to lymph nodes, I had chemo to shrink but lump did not react so had mastectomy, auxiliary clearance followed by 15 sessions of radiotherapy. Thank god they think they got it all and I am now cancer free. However I feel like it will never go away. Mine was hormone reactive so am on hormone treatment which has caused early menopause. I feel pretty good but since treatment ended I just feel so tired and my body constantly aches (like my bones hurt). Just finding it all a bit frustrating and overwhelming and wondered if anyone else had experienced the same and how long (if ever) it takes to feel 'normal' again? Thank you! wishing you all well with your journeys xx

  • Hi alot of people on the forum call it the new normal, after what alot of us have been through we know the old normal has gone for good because of cancer and treatment,so we think of one day at a time as normal.

Near time for checkup alot of the thoughts and feelings come back more and you never really get rid of those thoughts its just a question of keeping busy and concentration on other things.

Hope you can get your thoughts relaxed and think of other things.

    Best wishes for your future.

    Take care keep safe.
