Perfect storm: advanced prostate cancer, palliative treatmen

I have prostate cancer. It has now got into my lymph system and bones so I am receiving palliative treatment as they can't beat it.

after my third course of chemo my whole system crashed, my platelets count went right down, I had sepsis and was rushed into hospital. I had a gut bug escape into my blood stream and a brain TiA. The bug was 73% fatal in young fit males so I was lucky to fight back and survive it.

I now also have what appears to be an ulcer in my rectum which has caused anaemia.

My consultant won't put me back on chemo as it might kill me.

what can I do next please?

  • I was supposed to have 10sessions of chemotherapy but problems so had 6 ,.like you my cancer has spread to lymph nodes also spine ribs pelvis and a lung was diagnosed Feb 2016. on permanent hormone therapy it varies to see what works best, just living with my uninvited guest.

Usto work metal fabrication and welding, but had to retire to look after my disabled wife I'm her official carer she has Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

Hope you can get something sorted.

    Keep safe and positive.
