Feelings

Hi, just wanted to vent a bit really to hopefully people who understand this rollercoaster of emotions. My husband had a successful craniotomy 2 weeks ago and had his oncologist appt yesterday who has suggested 3very intensive weeks of radiotherapy then possibly chemotherapy. I'm just struggling with the thought of losing the man I adore and planned on spending my old age with. We met late in life (2yrs ago) but still had loads of plans which now won't happen and I think I'm grieving for the loss of those too - which sounds silly I know. I seem to do nothing but cry at the moment and the feeling of panic is overwhelming at times.
thank you for just listening/reading it feels better just writing down my fears xx

  • Hi Honeybee, it's the Loss of life as planned and the unknown future that are hard to accept.  My husband took early retirement aged 63 after working since the age of 15 and three months later he had a blood clot and had his leg amputated, so yes its very hard to lose your future.  He has now been battling stage 4 lung and liver cancer but we live each day as happily as we can.  So my advice would be to live in the moment, what you've lost is not important because he is still here and that's a very big bonus to you both.  So just take each day as it comes, enjoy the good days and know that the bad days will pass.  We're three years on now but it's not curable so we live in the moment.  I'm here on my Dor06 page if you want to chat, or message privately.  Don't despair, it truly doesn't help.  Hugs your way, Carol x

  •  Hi Hunnybee2 .

We all know what your feeling we've all been there and done that, and yes it does help to write things down.

Most have different sorts of cancer but the feelings are still the same and the thoughts.

The forum is a good place to talk rant or let off steam,.

Me and my darling wife were lucky we've been together for alot of years and had planned plenty for after retirement then My wife was diagnosed with Altzimers and Parkinson's,and I was diagnosed with cancer, been on palative care since early 2016 .

Keep positive, that's what I do.

    Billy
