Bone scan

Hello everyone,

haven't been on for quite a while. Had stage 1, no node involvement breast cancer diagnosed May 2019. Clear margins, 3 weeks of radiotherapy and then tamoxifen. Blood clot this March so tamoxifen stopped. Had rib pain since early 2019, told by GP it was Costochondritis. Had chest X-ray at time of diagnosis to check rib pain wasn't anything serious, all clear, 2nd X-ray in May this year for something else, all clear.
have got very stressed about the rib pain, which isn't there very much these days, consultant at breast clinic can't find anything to worry about but said because I am stressed about it he could arrange a bone scan if I wanted, I said yes please.
now my head is saying surely they wouldn't waste that kind of money to ease my fears, they must think there is something there, don't you think?
Any advice/experiences I'd appreciate hearing about.

thank you x

  • Fantastic news, so so happy for you. I've been thinking about you a lot. How did you get your results did you have to go into the hospital?

mine is Monday with results 10 days later, I'm a bit of a wreck and want to cancel but my husband said it's best to know.

im so pleased for you, large glass of wine for you tonight x

  • Oh thank you!!
I ended up calling the breast care nurses to ask if the results were in. She looked on the system and said a letter had been sent out and read it out to me. Huge relief!!! In a realistic world, the chances of my cancer spreading are very slim but your mind goes into over drive!! But I'm determined to stop worrying about it coming back and live my life again, like I did before cancer! I know the risk of recurrence is very low so I need to move on!!!
Fingers crossed for you too. Let me know how it goes xx

  • I'm so pleased for you. I've been told the same that the likelihood of it spreading is low but they can't be 100% sure, lots of people with grade 1 do get secondaries. I'm so nervous of what my results will be, I won't know until the 13th Nov, which is a Friday, hoping that's not a bad omen.

you've got the all clear now, onwards and upwards x

  • I know easier said than done, but try and stay positive and stay off goggle xx

  • Hi poppy  .

Bren doing very good really actually taken her off meds to make her better ,mad isn't it .

Beginning of this year she was diagnosed with Parkinson's plus altzimers but to see her you wouldn't know she's just getting back to walking slightly after three years stuck in a wheelchair , she's positive like me.

Take care and keep safe .
