There are a great number of posts on the foum about these treatments. You will see that a number of people have had side-effects, but don't let that put you off, as others don't have any problems at all.

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 11 years. After my lumpectomy, I took Tamoxifen for a year. For my second bout, I had a double mastectomy followed by Letrozole for 7 years. Unfortunately, I had quite a few of the listed side-effects, but I am still here 11 years on, so I guess that they were worth it. I hope that it all goes well for you.

Hi I was diagnosed with early breast cancer in 2010.  I had a mastectomy of my left breast with immediate reconstruction.  The cancer was contained within that breast so no need for radio- or chemo-therapy.  I was prescribed Letrozole for 5 years and during that time saw my Consultant/Surgeon and his team regularly.  I also had a scan of my right breast every year.  I had no adverse reaction to the Letrozole but maybe I was very fortunate.  With regard to stiffness  the physiotherapist I saw immediately after my surgery gave me a variety of exercises to do daily for my left arm which made a real difference.  Take care of yourself, hugs x
