joint pains on aromatase inhibitors

Hi, I had mastectomy and reconstruction in early December and began anastrazole in January. unfortunately my wrist and hand joints got very painful, so oncologist has switched me to exemestane.  Just wondered how other users had found those meds, I have arthritis and an immune disorder on top, so am used to joint trouble, but  never so painful in my hands before. am waiting for hospital to be accessible again to get joint injections again, as thumb almost unusable, and grip has gone.Physio at hospital has recommended some exercises, but its the hand pain thats upsetting.I need to use my laptop to work, and sew, and knit, etc etc. Work have been brilliant about me being off, and now its mostly shut down due to covid, but Im scared about the longterm Im 62 later this year, and face having to work for the next 4 years, and worried I wont be able to because of my new disabilities on top of the old ones, so much now is online, and Im struggling.

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling so much at the moment with pain in your hands and wrists. With everything that you're dealing with it's understandable that you're struggling at the moment. Hopefully once other services in the hospital resume, the joint injections that you've had previously may help with managing the pain.

I don't know if you feel it's worth speaking to your employer about any adaptations they may be able to help with such as voice activated software so that you don't need to type as much? It's something to consider.

I know from other posts that you have quite a complicated medical history so I do hope that you're able to find the best way forwards soon.

    Best wishes,
