I had my 5th TCHP chemo session 5 days ago. Feeling fluey, and the shakes have kicked in. I'm dreading the nasty taste of food side effect starting, but I have been given Nystan to put on tongue just in case it was due to thrush on tongue. I hope it works. I find being extremely hungry and not being able to put food in mouth as taste is that bad it makes me heave quite distressing. Even worse than diarrhea, as I can manage that and sickness with meds. The nasty taste lasts for about a week. It doesn't matter what type of food I try, it still tastes disgusting. I'm happy that I've only got one more session to go through, dependent on breast scan I'm due to have before I have session. I'm hoping they'll say that I might not need the last one one. I can only hope :) I will have surgery soon after to remove anything left of tumour, then radiation and long term medication. I'm guessing it'll be August before I'll be able to see and hug my two year old grandson again. I've not had him since February. I looked after him two days a week up until then. Thank god for FaceTime video calls. They've kept me and my husband going. Miss cuddling him so much. The light at end of tunnel is getting bigger and brighter.
