GemCarbo and what to expect

Hi

I have as of yesterday been switched to a new Chemo GemCarbo for TNBC and secondary Bone Mets.

I would be grateful for any advice or tips on how other people have got on with this.

I hope I have posted this request in the right place?

Thank you

KAR

  • Hi Kar

I was switched to GemCarbo for my 2nd cycle after being ill with Cisplatin and Vinorelbine that I had for cycle 1 of my adjuvant chemo following lung cancer surgery. I found it much easier to tolerate, I had far fewer side effects and the treatment was a lot quicker (3 hours in hospital instead of 9). I was given an 80% dose. It stung a little at first going into my vein but the nurse said to me that was normal. My chemo has now been stopped as the risks with Covid19 were deemed higher than the benefits for my situation.

    All the best with yours.
