physio help

Good morning all, some good news to share, my out/pt physio appt to help me increase arm mobility after mastectomy with reconstruction got cancelled due to the Covid issue, but one of the hospital physios rang me today, triaged me by phone, assessed my problems with arm and neck movements (tough when holding a mobile and shouting the results of what she wanted me to do) but she then emailed me some videos and instructional help sheets. Absolutely bnlliant, I hope if nothing else, that the  current situation enables a lot of medical professionals to think outside the box and take advantage of new technology for those able to access it, I feel so much more in control of the exercises now, and she has made a phone follow up appt which we both agreed should help me motivate myself to stay on track and not give up.  wishing all the people who are self isolating and shielding the very best., hang on in there

  • That's great news Poland. I'm so pleased to read this and I'm sure your post will give others some hope that they can get the help they need despite the pressure the NHS is under at the moment.

Keep going with those exercises Poland and remember that the Cancer Chat community are here to offer encouragement and motivation if you need it as well.

    Kind regards,

  • thanks, I am  not a teccy type, and find all this reliance on tiinternet a challenge, but hope that others using it will also find some little nuggets of useful info, I was just delighted that the worksheet and video that came out was easy to follow, and have tried using it regularly. Its nice to use somethiing I know comes from sources which are reliable, there seem to be a lot of self appointed experts offerring the physical equivalent of nonsense from what I can see! Stay safe everybody, and if you want some relaxation can I recommend the new facebook site, silent cities?  Love the pictures of the sheep in Llandudno and the Harold Hill Romferd deer, taking over green spaces in towns.
