Hi Silver.  
Must admit I am a little worried too.  I have to go to hospital tomorrow to get my PICC line fitted and it will be Day 9 of my first treatment so aware that my immune system will be low. 

At the moment my son is feeling unwell (I think more of a standard cold) so he is staying at his girlfriends so that he does not pass it on and I am really missing him as he is the joker of the family and keeps my spirits up   

i hope you are feeling ok after your second round of treatment.

Hi, 

2nd cycle day day 3 and not as bad as 1st cycle when I felt terrible with nausea. Doctor has tweaked my medication so maybe that has helped. Usual tiredness, weakness, slight loss of appetite,insomnia,  but the 1st one I was on the phone to the Onco nurses and so far haven't rung them. Maybe it's the knowing what to expect makes it a little easier. Either way it's brutal going through this with a little fuzz on top of my head and can't wait for it to end. Hoping it's a positive outcome with every cancer cell zapped out! My friend was just of to Zumba, Zumba!I can just about walk around the garden!

As to Corona virus, the doctors in my next town has been closed and it is a worry. I'm staying at home although I have a Feel Good Feel Better make up session at the Hospital next week, week 2 of this cycle and wondering whether to postpone. 
Although my partner is still going out to work so he may be a risk mixing with people, we can just hope to stay away from it.

I do hope this second round of chemo will be kinder to your system. I am sure it’s a tough call to keep positive in such dire circumstances. 

Yes the coronavirus is an added concern. All we can do is keep washing our hands I guess and be mindful of where we go. It’s a big drag for most but an added worry for all those with cancer and having treatments right now. 

I am beginning to think your idea of getting a puppy after this trauma has passed is a great idea. I love dogs but we have never had one as a couple. Perhaps it’s time we got one. Why not. It would get me out walking more often and the closeness of a dog is very comforting. My heart says a British Bulldog but my wallet says a mongrel from a rescue kennels!! We will see. 

Please take care and keep focussed on your garden and the better times ahead

I can't recommend having a dog highly enough! Mine is wonderful. When I first took him out after my operation he was so careful and gentle. He sleeps near me and is a real comfort. If you look around the rescue centres and let them know that you have a particular breed in mind you may find that they have one. Good luck x

Yes I am convinced the love for the right dog will help my full recovery. Mentally especially. He would be a focus and a definite comfort. Dogs are special.

oh yes, our reescue dog is supposed to be a lurcher, but he is more lab looking and tummy than I thought, although hes from a lurcher greyhound rescue org. I have other mobility issues, but he is my  constant companion, hes sitting in a large lounge chair snoring right now next to me, and if my husband starts chatting to me he makes noises and tries to join in.  The only thing that winds him up is the vacuum cleaner, but as Im too weak in the hands to push it we dont fall out, and I keep him out of the way when the lady who helps me with housework comes in.  And for anyone who loves dogs but missed crufts, treat yourself to a youtube moment with Krantu, the disobedient rescue dog doing agility, havent laughed so much in ages.I feel safer when Archie's with me, and his company has stopped me going potty since Ive been signed off work pre and post op.He is almost defensive of me if other people come into the room.

Have had dogs for years but over this last year and the shock of diagnosis, 7 rounds so far of Ibrance and a course of radiotheraphy they have been fantastic supporting me through the lowest moments which are now behind me. Having to take at least one out for a walk not always as far as she would have liked, the supoort of the other regular dog walkers we meet has kept me moving and not pulling the blanket over my head. I have a very supportive husband but we all need all the support we can get and unconditional love from them has been very special.

Now almost back to full activity without their help I am sure I would have just sat on the couch feeling sorry for myself.
