your situation right now sounds truly horrible. I can only send you virtual hugs and hope that this time can pass quickly. 

I am not quite sure how chemo works but will your treatment take a few weeks until it’s completion?  I am on my second week of radiotherapy and in comparison it’s such a trivial thing. I have no complaints and consider myself fortunate. 

I cannot believe how my life has changed within a few short months. One day I was skipping through life and the next I was hit by a ten ton truck. That’s exactly how it feels anyway. My brother died suddenly on the day of my breast surgery too. It’s been hellish but I know everyone who reads this knows exactly what ‘hellish’ means. We don’t say it lightly do we?? 

Silver I hope you manage in the coming weeks as best you can. You will soon have that puppy!! Bring on the summer for away trips and new horizons. You will get there.

Just wanted to give you some hope. The first week of fec chemo was pretty vile for me too, spent most of it going between bed toilet and couch. The second week becomes a little easier, I just felt like I had a mild hangover then by the third week I was more human ( ready for the next hit)

I also felt better when nibbling , was almost nibbling constantly! The nausea went away while eating but came back when I stopped...which I found odd...

Done forget the first cycle is the scary one, you now have a better idea of what to expect, I kept a diary and listed every single thing I felt....it was a useful reference....

Gives me hope than I can get through this. You really have helped me. There were a couple of days last week where I was pretty low. Day 8 today and actually feeling a bit better, nausea has passed and just had a bowl of porridge with blueberries.Pottering around today and hopefully get a few jobs done, nothing too taxing. Woke wih a sore throat in the night, but I have some Difflam mouthwash which seems to work well. Arranged for friend to come with me next week for wig fitting! Although hair not falling out yet, just feels thin? Staying in during my 7 - 10 day low cell count as I dont want any infection, although I have cardiogram appt at hospital tomorrow.

Just read an interesting article about Parabens, the chemical they use for preserving shampoo and conditioners as I was looking at care for wigs. According to research parabens has been found in breast tissue, entering through your hair cells and therefore not good for breast cancer. I do usually buy Organic shampoos but will make sure I do in future.

Chemo is every 3 weeks for 6 cycles, so 18 weeks in all.

That makes it a long haul, whereas radiotherapy for me is just every day for 3 weeks, so a way to go yet,

Glad you getting through it OK and on the road to recovery.
