Planning ahead

Hi,

Waiting for bone scan results and then 1st chemo.
I had my haircut in a short Bob today with a fringe. I actually like it! If I'm going to lose my hair which seems very likely with breast cancer drugs, might as well have a new look!
Arranged for wig consultant and bought a new thermometer. Had a chat with my lovely breast nurse.
Planning ahead!

  • love your attitude about the hair thing.  Hope the bob continues to cheer your spirits and make life easier for you.  Ive put off getting anything done to my hair since my mastectomy as I had to wait for oncodx result to see if Ill have chemo. thankfully I wont get chemo, and husband is telling me to go and get a hair makeover, but Im scared the anastrazole hormone blockers might make hair fall out, Ive only got to take that, but am on all sorts of meds for another illness too, and being so run down after the stress of the cancer diagnosis and treatment, Ive gone down with a major chest infection that means I cant sleep. Has anyone got any tips to offer about life on anastrozole please? Im arthritic, with joint replacements and fusions, and on steroids-  with rheumatoid, fibromyalgia and Behcets disease - so the prospect of bone ache and tiredness doesnt fill me with joy!

  • Oh I'm sorry - you have so many health problems. I only have cancer and that's bad enough! I'm not on any medication until chemo so can't help you with anastrazole side effects, but I'm sure someone will reply to you. It's given me a lift having my hair cut with a different style, so may help you too. I had an awful chest infection, bad cough a few weeks ago, steaming with Vick helped me, as recommended by my nurse friend! Oh to be well.....

    Best wishes,
