Mucus in my experience did not last for that long but plenty side effects to deal with.

Week 5 is tougher 

I'm 3 weeks post treatment 

And the mucous is horrendous and no sign of it going yet.

I'm only just drinking small sips of coke. To keep the swallow going.

With no taste back yet.

I feel for you as it's a tough road ahead for all of us.

But keep fighting and hopeful 

For the future.

Thank you and I think you're right about week 5 as I'm getting worse as the day goes on.

I'm so thirsty I'm even dreaming about water but I just can't swallow any as it makes me sick. I've tried every drink going both flat and fizzy but all tastes like dirty dishwater

Strangely enough I can eat a few cornflakes with skimmed milk

as hard as it might be, I'm a great beliver in water being one of the best medcines and was fully encouraged by my support team.

I would suggest you try and up the water intake with lots of associated benefits

re:water I too couldn’t drink tap water and still a year in incantbseink tap water it’s we wcike tastes like bleach and smells like it to me hubby disagrees lol What I started from aboutbweek 3 was buying bottled water in 6 /8 liter bottles go through at least 8 a week but in earkybdays it was more. We even hand 2 kettles as infound if u boiled bottled water it was easier to sip Luke warm de caff green tea. Note always go for de caff otherwise under out I still am on de caff drinks but tap water boiled is ok for tea have tried leaving it to cool but still can’t drink it. Have also tried many different friends water all the same !!

week 5 is tough also get with in. my case  week 6/7 as I had 35 sessiosn

re mucus are you sleeping with humidifier on all night ? Plus using the nebuliser I used it about 6 times a day tip you can put cooled boiled water in yiu don’t always need the saline .

i was  also prescribed carbusistine tonhelpmdeybthe mucus up. 

Lille sunshine be careful with Ribena as your saliva won’t be washing all the sugars away so make sure to brush your teeth and gums. 

Like I said I am a year from treatment finishing in Saturday there is light at the end of the tunnel I know it’s  hard to believe refresh your self s with mine and Ian’s blogs just to see how we’ve come on when we say we know what u are going through we really do .

Hi Hazel 

I can't drink any water in any form now either tap, bottled, hot or cold or boiled. I'm now struggling to drink the hot ribena and can't drink it cold. The green tea stopped yesterday morning. I'm so desperate for a drink I have nightmares

Lillie you must find a way of getting in fluids.  You will feel so bad with dehydration it will sap any strength you have and not leave you any fight for the real culprit.  I have not experienced the Radiotherapy but had two bouts of Trans Oral Laser treatment, first one i came out dancing within a few days was back to normal.  Second one two weeks ago I am struggling also with excessive mucus and with this hot weather i get dehydrated very quickly which makes me feel wrecked.  I had to have thickened liquids for first 8 days and this really dehydrated me.  Know its hard but you must drink.

Just wondering how you're doing? I tried drinking some coke but it just tastes like dirty froth. Have you got any taste back at all now you're 3 weeks post treatment. Does anything taste right? They wanted to admit me but I refused so I have to try put fortisips and water in the tube but not easy
