Hi Everyone ,

Bit off a moan I’m afraid , 

Here’s me so far,

Had breast cancer diagnosis on March 7th after biopsies, 

Diagnosed Dcis stage one, had radical mastectomy on April 5th with immediate LD flap reconstruction.

went back in 10 days later with an infection and a month of v strong antibiotics .

Pathology post op report was 73 mm with Idc and positive vascular invasion.

started fec-t chemo this week 6th June on a 6 cycles .

Not feeling to bad considering but very queasey but tablets seem to be helping.

just desp frustrated really as feel like can’t do what I want or need to despite people helping me . 

Enough moaning from me.

i find this forum extreamly supportive and Thanku to everyone support xx

    Hi fifigibbo, don't worry loads of people come here to moan or let off steam, i know it's hard now but things will get better weather you'll be the same person afterwards is another matter, a lot of people change when they finish treatment it gives a new meaning to being alive,.

    Oh I know , I think you just have to have a moan at times . 

    Move had 4 ops in 3 years then the cancer landed and prob just feeing but sorry for self.

    i can’t wait for it all to be over tbh xx

    Hi love,

    iv finished chemo and now on rads.....I was on fec.....I found it pretty brutal! And I totally understand when you say you feel helpless.....I was absolutely good for nothing in that first week....then slowly began to feel more normal before the next hit....I had to come to terms with putting my life on hold ...especially during chemo....really difficult when your a control freak like me!

    try and be kinder to yourself...your body and emotions are taking a hit.....go with it......xxxxx

    Thank you for your kind words , I’m not the kinda person to sit all day it just makes me angry but I suppose I just have to survive and tolerate.

    Can I ask how your first week was ? Was it nausea , sickness , etc ??

    Hi, the first cycle landed me in hospital with uncontrollable vomiting....I had to be rehydrated for a day...it was by far the worse cycle....after that I was put on emend for the first 3 days of each cycle and that did the trick....the odd thing was .....I was really nauseous throughout chemo but eating alleviated it...then as soon as I stopped scoffing the nausea would come back.....anything cheesy would do it! 

    Also I got heart flutters....how are you getting on? Plenty of difflam? Xxx

    Well it’s only been 3 days so far , sickness wise I’m just keeping it at bay with ondansatron and metoclopromide but still feel very queasy.

    im also on an antibiotic which can’t swallow without cutting in 4 .

    how soon after did you start getting a sore mouth please .

    mines seems to be ok so far, but chemo nurses got me to sip loads of cold water during chemo cycle and maybe that helped.

    im ringing Tom to get antibiotic syrup instead, some extra anti sickness, and some diffllam mouthwash.

    How are you feeling now and how are you coping with rads ?

    The " odd" mouth hit almost immediately...felt like there was no moisture in my mouth at all......sadly the mouth  isn't back to normal (I'm 7 weeks post last chemotherapy) but it is loads better....I found the difflam helped....

    yes, swallowing pills is difficult....xx

    im feeling loads better now, the fatigue is still with me but I don't think rads help.....I'm halfway through and have a very sore boob! But they look after you and I have gels and dressings......will you need rads? Xxxx
